1. What is PureAyura's definition of Chemical-Free Products?

When we refer to "chemical-free," we mean that our products are formulated exclusively from naturally occurring botanicals, including plants, trees, herbs, flowers, fruits, and seeds. These ingredients consist of pure extracts, such as essential oils, hydrosols, dried powders, and other naturally sourced components.

Our commitment to being chemical-free means that our products are devoid of harsh synthetic chemicals. By prioritizing natural ingredients, we ensure that our formulations are safe for you and respectful of the environment.

2. How do I preserve the freshness of my products?

Because we don’t use harsh preservatives, it’s important to treat your products with a little extra care.

Here are a few simple tips:

  • Always use clean, dry hands or a spoon/spatula to scoop out the product.
  • Try to avoid getting water into the jars as moisture can affect freshness.
  • Make sure lids are closed tightly after each use.
  • If looked after properly, our products will stay fresh for up to 12 months after opening — though we recommend using them within 6 months for the best experience.

3. Are your products safe without preservatives?

Yes. Our oil-based formulations are inherently stable and resistant to microbial growth due to the absence of water, which is necessary for most microbes to thrive. We also incorporate
essential oils that naturally contain antimicrobial and antifungal properties, which helps in ensuring longevity and safety of our products when stored properly.

4. Are your products cruelty-free and vegan?

Our products are 100% cruelty-free. While we are not formally certified yet, we do not test on animals and we only work with suppliers who uphold the same standard.

Many of our formulations are vegan-friendly; however, our Remineralizing Toothpaste contains ghee (clarified butter), which is derived from milk and therefore not considered vegan.

We clearly label all ingredients so you can make informed choices based on your preferences.

5. Do any of your products contain nuts?

Yes — many of our products include nut-based ingredients, like almond oil or castor oil. So if you have a nut allergy, we recommend avoiding our products just to be safe.

6. How does cacao work as a remineralizing agent in toothpaste, and why is it a natural alternative to fluoride?

Cacao, specifically theobromine (a natural compound found in cacao beans), has been shown to help remineralize tooth enamel by promoting the growth of hydroxyapatite crystals — the key mineral that makes up tooth enamel. Similar to fluoride, theobromine strengthens teeth by making the enamel more resistant to acid erosion and decay, but it provides these benefits without the potential risks associated with fluoride overexposure, such as fluorosis (discoloration or pitting of the teeth). Theobromine is also non-toxic at the levels used in toothpaste and is safe if swallowed.


Additionally, cacao contains antioxidants and antibacterial compounds that can help support overall oral health by reducing harmful bacteria and inflammation in the mouth.

7. My ordinary toothpaste does a good job, why should I buy Pure Ayura products ?

Many popular toothpastes contain ingredients like triclosan or sodium lauryl sulfate, which act as broad-spectrum antimicrobials and can disrupt the delicate microbial balance in the mouth, and even negatively impact the gut microbiome if swallowed.

PureAyura's oral care products contain carefully selected Essential oils based on Scientific studies that prove their targeted antimicrobial properties, meaning they selectively reduce harmful bacteria such as Streptococcus mutans (linked to tooth decay) while supporting the growth of beneficial microbes.

8. Your products are natural and chemical-free, but I noticed a number of allergens listed. Should I be worried?

It’s a completely valid concern, and something we get asked about from time to time.
While our products are free from synthetic chemicals, many natural ingredients—especially essential oils - contain naturally occurring compounds (like linalool or limonene) that are classed as allergens. These are found in things like citrus oils, herbs, and flowers, and we include them on our labels to be fully transparent and to help anyone with sensitivities make informed choices.

If you have known allergies or sensitive skin, we always suggest doing a patch test first.

9. Are essential oils safe to use in oral care?

Yes, when used correctly, essential oils can be a powerful addition to oral care.

At PureAyura, we only use high quality organic - therapeutic or food grade ingredients, we carefully and expertly calibrate our formulations. Our precise essential oil dilution process strikes the right balance—strong enough to deliver the therapeutic benefits, yet gentle enough to avoid irritation or adverse reactions.

10. If essential oils are so beneficial, why are pregnant or lactating women often advised to avoid products containing essential oils?

The effects of some essential oils haven't been thoroughly studied during pregnancy or lactation, so health professionals often recommend avoiding them as a precautionary measure.


This doesn’t mean all essential oils are harmful — only that during these sensitive stages, it's best to opt for milder formulations or products that are specifically labeled as safe for pregnancy and breastfeeding.

11. If essential oils are so beneficial, why are they often not recommended in oral care products for small children?

While essential oils have many benefits in oral care, they are highly concentrated and can be harmful if ingested in large quantities. Since small children are more likely to swallow toothpaste or tooth oils while brushing, there's a higher risk of accidental ingestion. To ensure safety, it’s advised to keep essential oil-based products out of reach of young children, and use formulations specifically made for their age group. This helps avoid potential adverse reactions while still supporting safe oral hygiene habits.

12. Are your items handmade locally?

Absolutely! Every product is carefully handmade in small batches right here in Buckinghamshire. Doing things this way means we can keep everything super fresh and pay close attention to quality.

13. Are your oil-based skin care products suitable for oily skin?

Yes, definitely! It might sound counterintuitive, but the right oils can actually help balance oily skin. We use light, non-comedogenic oils that won’t clog your pores. Instead, they help regulate your skin’s natural oil production, keep it hydrated, and leave it feeling calm and more balanced—not greasy.

14. What ingredients do you avoid altogether?

Our products are completely free from fluoride, sulfates, foaming agents, parabens, emulsifiers, emollients, preservatives, silicones, SLS/SLES, PEGs, mineral oils, and palm oil. We use only natural, plant-based ingredients, relying on oil-based formulations and essential oils that offer gentle preservation through their natural antimicrobial properties.

We avoid synthetic chemicals entirely, to ensure our formulas remain 100% natural and true to our commitment.

15. Have your products been clinically tested for effectiveness?

Our products haven’t undergone formal clinical trials or blind testing. Instead, their effectiveness is based on anecdotal observations—real feedback and experiences from people who have tried them. We also carefully select ingredients that have been individually researched in lab settings for their known benefits in oral and skin care. This combination guides the development of our products, though the final results come from genuine user experience rather than formal studies.

16. Can your oral care products replace the need for regular visits to the dentist or hygienist?

Our oral care products are designed to support your daily oral hygiene routine, but they are not a substitute for professional dental care. 17. Can I use Oral Care Drops along with my standard toothpaste?

Yes, absolutely! Oral Care Drops can be added directly on top of your standard toothpaste. Since our formula is non-foaming, some users prefer combining it with their regular toothpaste for a familiar brushing experience. You'll still receive the full benefits of Oral Care Drops' natural essential oils while maintaining your usual oral care routine.

18. Why do you use glass jars instead of pump bottles or tubes for your toothpaste and face wash products ?

We prefer glass jars to support both our natural formulations and sustainable packaging values. Without synthetic emulsifiers or emollients, our products may separate over time and need a quick stir — something that’s not possible with pumps or tubes.

19. Do you offer Digital or Electronic Gift Cards?

23. Need to change or cancel an order?

If you email us immediately within 1 to 2 hours of placing the order, we may still be able to stop processing. After that, it’s best to return the item once it arrives.

24. How long does delivery take and what are the costs?

UK: 3–5 business days via Royal Mail Tracked 48. Orders in value £40 or above have free shipping, under £40 have £2.99 delivery charge.

Europe: Free over £100, otherwise £15; delivery within 5–10 days.

USA & Rest of World (ROW): Free over £160, £20 for £80–£159 orders; require minimum £80 order; delivery takes
7–15 days.
